We have used The Grounds Guys for several years and are extremely pleased with Walks and his team! Between weekly maintenance, lighting and sprinkler installations, and treatments, they have always been professional and a pleasure to deal with.

We had a good size project that ultimately involved changing the elevation and slope of the backyard in a significant way, installing a drain system and better suited materials to address the runoff that had doomed that part of the yard previously, recovering some larger beds, and rehabilitating the lighting and irrigations systems. It doesn’t take long to figure out just how experienced and knowledgeable Walks is and to realize Walks wants the yard designed for the long haul as much as you do. Nothing about the project was cookie cutter, and every decision was intentional and well thought out. And Walks has the crew and equipment to do the work correctly and efficiently. From planning to execution, everything was first rate, and the results were better than I could have imagined.

Loved working with Walks and Caroline! They were professional and fun to work with in redesigning my back yard! They provided excellent guidance in dealing with the slope of the yard and diverting water to ensure it drained away from the house and foundation. (Saw it in action during the rains of Ian!) The on-site crew were professional, worked extremely hard all day, and did an excellent job clearing my back yard of a brick wall and big, old shrubs, installing a paved patio, installing an irrigation system, and laying sod in the front and back yards. I love my new yard! I couldn’t be more pleased with the Grounds Guys of Columbia!

These guy’s are great. It is one of the few times that I have hired someone to do work for me that did not need constant supervision. They showed up and worked. They cleaned up behind themselves and were very contentious. I plan on having them come back to do another project soon. I would also have no problems recommending them to anyone .

Last year Walks Milliken of Grounds Guys landscaped my front and back yards. He gave me an estimate and stuck to the plan. He put in new sod where needed, planted new bushes and flowers, planted a tree, cleaned out flower beds, refitted sprinkler system, put down new pine straw, and created balance for front yard trees and plants. He did everything we agreed upon in a timely manner. His men came and stayed until work completed each day. He replaced landscaping timbers in front yard used as a retaining wall with railroad ties and secured them with rebars – metal rods- placed a few feet apart. The latter is what saved our yard and house recently when a car driven by a confused person crashed into our front yard. The railroad ties and a tree stopped the car from doing much damage. No one was hurt, thank the Lord. Walks came right away to check our yard and sprinkler system. He made repairs where needed. He is dependable and does what he says he’s going to do. No surprises! Neighbors have complimented me on how lovely our yard looks. I’ve lived here for 50 years and it’s never looked this good! I highly recommend Walks Milliken and his company Grounds Guys. Sara Dent

The Grounds Guys replaced sod, adjusted my irrigation system and treated my lawn for fungus. They also recommended a application of Milorganite to promote root growth. The results have been astounding.

Folks are always complementing us on how pretty and healthy our yard looks and it’s all because of the Grounds Guys….and lots of water.

These guys did a really good job on my yard shortly before I had surgery and could not do the work myself. In addition to being out of work, I had some family issues and was unable to pay my bill in a timely manner. Jennifer and the rest of the staff worked with me on the bill, all the while being very professional and extremely kind. I would never hesitate to recommend this company.
