Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆They quickly responded when I contacted them regarding my concerns in my drainage system. They located the clog and determined that some of the pipes needed to be replaced. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆It was a privilege working with Daniel Sadler and the amazing Grounds Guys team. Daniel is the owner of the company which has franchise locations all over the US. Daniel's team worked on improving our property for selling. This is my parents' home and so I only wanted the best. And I knew that I was working with the best because of Daniel's extensive knowledge and his intuition of all things nature. Daniel immediately impressed me during our first meeting. Daniel, who studied horticulture in college, pointed out all of the various trees and plants on our property and named them all without batting an eyelash: "That's hosta, that's arborvitae, that's a boxwood, that's a spirea shrub, that's a berberis, that's phlox…." etc. He was even able to name dead trees and plants without any leaves on them! Despite being the owner of such a large company, Daniel visited our property daily while the work was being done and I always felt confident that our property was in good hands. In addition, Daniel was very responsive to all of my communications, of which there were many, and he would always action my requests quickly. I learned a lot by working with Daniel. I didn't know anything about landscaping. And it felt like I was back in 7th grade science class again. I learned about where the rain water flows on our property and where the deer trail on our property is. I finally learned the difference between perennials and annuals – (an annual lives just once). I learned the names of the various plants on the property and how to tell if a plant is dead — (if you break off a branch and it's green, then it's alive). I learned that vines aren't good for trees and actually strangle them. And I learned that a sapling is a young tree with a slender trunk. Did you know that the right time of the year to trim arborvitae is in the spring? If you trim them in the summer, they will go into shock. And I learned that one key aspect of good landscaping is consistency and unity. While working with Daniel, I thought to myself that Daniel has the infectious energy of Steve Irwin mixed with agility of Tarzan. It's clear that this is what he is born to do. When discussing his ideas on clearing our trees that were blocking the view of our backyard lake, Daniel was so excited about the prospect of how it would look that I thought I saw him swinging from the trees! On a couple of other instances, while evaluating some steep and precarious rocky inclines on our property, Daniel dashed up and down the slopes like a cat in the wilderness. The Grounds Guys team worked at lightning speed, checking off everything that I wanted done on the list, and also completing things that I didn't know that I needed. They worked so quickly that I found myself adding more to the list regularly, all of which they speedily accomplished. Here is a list of some items that The Grounds Guys completed on our property: 1. Planted perennials, shrubs and grass seedlings 2. Trimmed shrubs to look like perfect balls 3. Added mulch to all plant beds 4. Removed dead plants, dead trees, weeds, and unneeded rocks 5. Cut down tree saplings covering the view of our backyard lake 6. Dug an underground drainage system to catch the rain run-off 7. Straightened Belgium blocks and stone steps 8. Added polymeric sand in between flagstones 9. Fixed and extended gutters that were draining into the foundation 10. Cleaned out a dumping ground of decades' worth of tree & junk material on our property 11. Patched up with cement a hole in our foundation The Grounds Guys workers were very hardworking, efficient, kind, friendly and polite and they always cleaned up after their jobs were complete each day. I actually never saw tools, leftover plant containers, or anything of the like on the property and I'm convinced they used magical powers to perform their work. My only regret is not knowing that the team does other things like masonry and redoing patios! Had I known this, I would have asked the team to redo our old patio. I would highly recommend The Grounds Guys for all of your grounds needs!
