  • OK, Google wouldn’t let me add another review for the guys that actually maintain the property. So here’s an update and if you want to read how I started with them it’s long but worth a read. Thomas and his crew do an excellent job of maintaining my property. And I am very picky about it! The edging is done properly. It’s always weeded. They pull dead leaves off of plants on a regular basis. I have a lot of rock where another company I used left leaves and trash all in my rock – Thomas and the guys use the blower and blow all of that up out of my rock. I never have to go behind them and complain ever ever ever. I highly recommend this company, they’re not cheap, but if you want a good job done without the hassle of constantly telling them how you want it done they’re the guys to go to! I used another landscaping company last spring to do a major landscaping job. I had a lot of pavers put down and thousands of dollars in plants. They did a terrible job planting, had no idea how or where to plant stuff. Bottom line, it was a hot mess and made all the money I spent on the sandstone really a waste because the yard still looked stupid. I had used The Grounds Guys last fall to do fall clean up and try to amend some of the soil where the ‘other’ guys planted everything just down in this old black gumbo clay we in Houston fondly refer to as soil and most of it was either dead, dying or just looked bad. The Grounds The Grounds did as much as they could without major overhaul and it looked much better through the winter. BUT com spring, it still looked tacky due to plants being planted in inadequate soil and totally in the wrong places as far as sun/shade etc. So…I went to The Grounds guys and said, “Help”!!! And they did! They went above and beyond what anyone could expect, helping me move existing plants to better locations, building beds that actually contained soil they would grow in, putting in chop stone borders to hold the ‘good stuff’ in place. They are not inexpensive…however the ‘other’ guy was not at all either and did not have a clue about plants. The Grounds Guys actually know what they are doing The folks on the team that brought my yard back to health and beauty were Jessica (or Jessa as she likes) who was awesome when it came to knowing how and where to plant, the proper nutrients to add to the soil so the transplanted stuff would grow and just plain fun to work with. The guys, Eric, Anthony and Donny were great, very polite and professional and worked their behinds off. What took months for the ‘other’ guy to mess up took them a couple of days to fix. We are going to continue the project, putting in at least one more bed later in the spring and filling in some bare places when more blooming plants are available, but if you love your yard like I do…couldn’t find a better bunch to work with. They get a little busy but if you are patient, you will not regret it. They are the best I’ve found and I’m picky about my yard.

  • Excellent customer service, great crew headed up by Louise (who was patient and answered all of our questions) and came to house for install. Very polite and worked hard. Good price for gutters…did a superb job of matching up style and color of current gutters after new build for continuation around the rest of the house. We will definitely recommend The Ground Guys!
